A multi-time champion in WWE and major name in the world of professional wrestling who has been on the sidelines for months has teased a return. This is welcomed news for fans, especially with rumors circulating about a potential move to AEW.
Mercedes Moné (fka Sasha Banks in WWE) suffered an unfortunate injury during a match with AEW star Willow Nightingale back in May and has not competed since. Despite being linked with a move to Tony Khan’s promotion, her injury has reportedly been the major reason she has not yet struck up an official working relationship with AEW. However, she recently uploaded a video of herself running the ropes of a wrestling ring to social media.
While the exact return date for Moné is still undisclosed, it seems like she could be gracing wrestling fans with her presence before too long.
As for a potential return to WWE, despite her controversial departure, some believe that her former employers would be keeping an eye out on possibly bringing her back in. According to Ringside News, there are currently no creative plans to bring her back at this time, as confirmed by a member of the creative team. However, with the unexpected return of CM Punk after nearly a decade away, there is no concrete way of confirming whether Moné’s comeback to WWE is entirely off the table.
