The Tough Lesson I’d Give My Younger Self

Novak Djokovic discussed about being hard on his younger self following his title victory at the 2023 ATP Finals. He defeated home favorite Jannik Sinner to win a record seventh ATP Finals title. This win also marked his 71st ‘Big Title’, comprising of Grand Slam titles, ATP Finals titles, ATP Masters 1000 titles, and Olympic singles gold medals. Djokovic holds the record for the most titles won at Grand Slams (24), ATP Finals (7), and ATP Masters 1000s (40).

During the post-match press conference, Djokovic jokingly said that his present self at 36 years old would easily outperform his younger self. He is setting his sights on winning all four slams and an Olympic gold medal in 2024. His determination and ambition to achieve even greater success next season is unwavering, as he expressed the drive and mental freshness needed to do so.
