Barcelona’s Transfer Buzz: Ndidi on Blaugrana Radar, January Signings Unlikely

Barcelona is set to face Alaves at home in La Liga on Sunday (November 12). Following a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, Xavi will be eager for his team to return to winning ways. The Blaugrana are also eyeing Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City while unlikely to make signings in January. Ndidi has been catching the attention of Barcelona with impressive performances for Leicester City in the Championship, scoring three goals and setting up four in 15 appearances across competitions this season. Barcelona’s interest in Ndidi comes as they are looking to strengthen their midfield after the departure of club legend Sergio Busquets and the underwhelming performances of Oriol Romeu. Xavi is hoping to bring in a new pivot but has been informed that due to the club’s financial situation, it will be difficult to make signings in January. Additionally, Robert Lewandowski has rubbished talks of a rift with Xavi despite recent reports suggesting a building difference between the two. The Polish striker has been a key player for Barcelona since his arrival from Bayern Munich in 2022 and has refuted claims of a feud with the manager. He has also been linked with a potential move to the MLS in 2024.
