The highly anticipated match occurred at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Al-Ardiya, Kuwait. Qatar, the hosts of the FIFA World Cup 2022, holds the top spot in Group A after defeating Afghanistan 8-1. They have three points and a goal difference of seven. India claimed the second spot in the points table by securing a 1-0 triumph over hosts Kuwait. With a goal difference of one, they have three points from one game. Kuwait and Afghanistan are positioned third and fourth with zero points each. Kuwait has a goal difference of -2, while Afghanistan has a goal difference of -7. Both teams are eager to secure a win in their upcoming matches. At the same time, Qatar dominated Afghanistan in a Group A contest, with Qatar winning 8-1. Hassan Al-Haydos scored the first goal in the 11th minute, followed by Amiruddin Mohammad Anwar Sharifi’s goal in the 13th minute for Afghanistan. However, Qatar took control, scoring five more goals in the first half. Almoez Ali and Moustafa Tarek Mashal contributed to the early scorers. The score was 6-1 in Qatar’s favor at half-time. In the second half, Ahmed Alaaeldin converted a penalty in the 53rd minute, and Tameem Al-Abdullah scored in stoppage time to secure an 8-1 victory. India faced off against Kuwait in another Group A match, with the scores tied at 0-0 at half-time. Manvir Singh emerged as the star of the day, scoring in the 75th minute to give India the lead with an assist from Lallianzuala. This victory marks a positive start for India in the tournament, and they aim to climb higher in the standings.
