According to football analyst Chris Sutton, the struggles of Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund can be attributed to the lack of support from the team’s wingers, Anthony and Marcus Rashford. Sutton believes that Hojlund’s poor performance is a result of the insufficient assistance from the flanks, despite the significant €75 million investment United made to acquire him from Atalanta.
The Scottish pundit expressed his concern for the player’s form, emphasizing the lack of understanding and support from the wide players, particularly Antony, after Manchester United’s recent Champions League loss to Bayern Munich.
In 20 appearances for United across various competitions, Hojlund has scored five goals, with all of his strikes coming in the UEFA Champions League. However, he has failed to score in 12 Premier League fixtures. As United prepares to face league leaders Liverpool, all eyes will be on Hojlund to see if he can find the back of the net.
