Rumors Swirl as Tyrrell Hatton Confirmed for Sony Open in Hawaii

Following Rahm’s move to LIV Golf, there has been speculation about who will be the next to join his team. Sony confirms that Tyrrell Hatton is one of the “notable players” expected to play at the Open in Hawaii. The press release also reveals that the event’s purse will be $8.6 million, with the winners’ share at $1,494,099. The funds will continue to benefit Hawaii’s communities through the Friends of Hawaii Charities. Sony has sponsored the tournament since 1999, raising over $24 million over the years.

Tyrrell Hatton is among the names linked to LIV Golf but has remained silent. The Spanish outlet, Ten Golf, reported that Rahm had recommended Hatton to Greg Norman for the new golf circuit. Other players rumored to join LIV Golf have voiced their commitment to the PGA Tour for 2024. Hatton, who had a successful 2023 season with a Ryder Cup victory, has six DP World Tour victories and one PGA Tour victory in his career. His performance in majors includes four Top 10s.
