The Los Angeles Dodgers signed Shohei Ohtani to a 10-year, $700 million deal and introduced him at a press conference. In his new Dodger blue jersey, Ohtani spoke about why he chose LA. The jersey set a record for the highest sales within 48 hours.
He will serve as the team’s designated hitter next season while recovering from an elbow procedure and return to the mound in 2025. Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman make the Dodgers a juggernaut, with the smallest odds to win the 2024 World Series. The team is adding a player with the best slugging percentage in the league, significantly boosting their offense. With Max Muncy also in top form, the Dodgers are looking to strengthen their starting rotation for the 2024 season.
