India opener Shubman Gill posed for a picture with friends during a vacation in London. He last played during the final of the 2023 World Cup, where India suffered a loss against Australia. Gill missed some matches due to dengue but scored 354 runs in nine matches. He supported Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the top order but did not produce match-winning knocks. Gill, along with others, was rested for the five-match T20I series against Australia and will return to action next week for India’s all-format tour to South Africa. Aakash Chopra recently stated that Ruturaj Gaikwad has played himself into contention for a spot in the squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup and might be competing with Shubman Gill for an opening spot in a full-strength Indian T20 squad. West Indies and the USA will host the 2024 T20 World Cup between June 4 and June 30.
