Joseph Lasiri and Prajanchai PK Saenchai’s highly anticipated strawweight Muay Thai world title unification fight is set to take place at ONE Championship’s final event of the year on Friday, December 22. The rematch, which has been 18 months in the making, promises to be a memorable event held at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium as part of ONE Friday Fights 46.
Joseph Lasiri initially faced challenges when he joined ONE Championship, experiencing five losses out of six fights at the beginning of his tenure. However, he was able to turn things around with a remarkable victory over Australia’s Rocky Ogden, followed by a dominant performance against Japanese fighter Asahi Shinagawa, earning him a shot at Prajanchai’s world title.
In their previous encounter at ONE 157 in May 2022, Joseph Lasiri’s striking prowess led to a victory over the Thai superstar by forcing him to quit during the third round. As the upcoming fight approaches, Lasiri aims to achieve an upset and solidify his position as the divisional king, but he must not underestimate Prajanchai’s determination to reclaim his title.
Prajanchai, on the other hand, has secured three consecutive wins at the ONE Friday Fights events this year, including a knockout victory over former champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao. With the added interim gold to his collection, Prajanchai looks to further his success and end the year with a perfect 4-0 record in front of his home crowd at ONE Friday Fights 46 on December 22.
The entire event will be available for viewing on ONE Championship’s YouTube channel and the ONE Super App.
