Following in Ronaldo’s footsteps: Dismissing Sacking Rumors

Alejandro Garnacho scored a brilliant bicycle kick as Manchester United defeated Everton 3-0. Sean Dyche’s Toffees, reeling from a 10-point deduction, suffered more woes after an astounding early goal from Garnacho. The 19-year-old’s acrobatic strike came from a driven long ball from Victor Lindelof and a cross from Diogo Dalot. Everton had their chances, with goalkeeper Andre Onana and Kobbie Mainoo’s goalline clearance keeping them at bay. In the second half, a penalty was awarded to United, converted by Marcus Rashford, followed by a goal from Anthony Martial. Garnacho’s goal at Goodison Park was compared to Ronaldo’s famous overhead kick for Real Madrid, with a fan stating, “Garnacho is just like his idol Ronaldo.”

After the victory, Garnacho described his goal as “one of the best goals” he’s scored, and the Argentinian now has seven goals and five assists in 52 senior team appearances for Manchester United. The forward’s remarkable strike has been likened to Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney’s extraordinary goals.
