The head coach of Scottish ONE Championship bantamweight Muay Thai fighter ‘King of the North’ Nico Carrillo believes that his fighter could be too big and strong for his next opponent, despite facing a Thai legend. Nico Carrillo is set to have a symbolic passing of the torch as he faces former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion and Thai legend Nong-O Hama at ONE Friday Fights 46: Tawanchai vs. Superbon, which will be broadcast live from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, December 22nd. His mentor, JP Gallacher, expressed his confidence in Nico Carrillo, stating, “I just do believe Nico’s too big and strong and too quick and I just feel like it’s Nico’s time now. It’s just going to be like a passing of the torch there.” It will be Nico Carrillo’s biggest fight to date in his career and in his short stint in ONE Championship. The event also features a main event showdown between Tawanchai PK Saenchai and Superbon Singha Mawynn, who are two of Thailand’s greatest strikers.
