Noel Gallagher questions Arsenal’s signing of Kai Havertz, believes Declan Rice was a better option. The former Oasis frontman and Manchester City fan says Havertz’s transfer was unnecessary. The musician feels the team only needed Rice to strengthen their squad. Gallagher criticizes the Gunners’ transfer decisions, stating that Havertz did not perform well at the beginning of the season. He suggests that Arsenal made a mistake and overcomplicated their transfer business. He mentioned that Rice has performed admirably since arriving from West Ham United. The English midfielder scored two goals and assisted in 12 league starts. Gallagher expressed his views on talkSPORT. Currently, the Premier League is on hold for the international break, and Arsenal will face Brentford on 25 November.
Gallagher also weighed in on the goalkeeping situation at Arsenal, expressing his disapproval of manager Arteta’s decision. He mentioned that Aaron Ramsdale, Arsenal’s No.1 goalkeeper, faced competition from David Raya, who joined the club this summer. Gallagher criticized Arteta’s handling of the goalkeepers and referenced Ramsdale’s father’s comments on the situation. Ramsdale has kept two clean sheets in seven games, while Raya has achieved six clean sheets in 12 games this season.
