Raphael Varane Eyeing Manchester United Exit as European Giants Line Up January Transfer: Reports

Manchester United defender Raphael Varane is reportedly seeking a departure from Old Trafford, with Bayern Munich exploring the possibility of signing the 30-year-old. Varane, who has been discontent with his current situation at United, has been benched in his last four appearances.

Bayern has discussed the potential transfer of Varane in the upcoming January window, but the move is considered unrealistic given his valuation of €20-30 million and the remaining year on his contract, which sees him earning €17 million annually.

Varane, who was a key player for Erik ten Hag’s last season, has fallen out of United’s starting lineup, being replaced by Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. Despite this, his manager has stated that it is a tactical decision, emphasizing the internal competition within the team.

In addition to Bayern, Al-Nassr, the former club of Cristiano Ronaldo, has also shown interest in Varane. However, the French defender has expressed his desire to end his career at either Real Madrid, Lens, or Manchester United. He began his career at Lens before making a move to Madrid in 2011, and then joined United in 2021.

Although a return to Madrid seems unlikely, a reunion with Lens remains a possibility for Varane, as he expressed sentiments about finishing his career at only these three clubs.
