In the recent UFC Vegas 82 showdown, Ailín Pérez clinched a hard-fought win, as she faced challenges with her gas tank in the prelims. Despite facing a comeback attempt from Pudilová, Pérez managed to evade any significant threats and ultimately claimed victory via unanimous decision. The judges scored the bout 29-27, 29-28, and 29-28 in favor of Pérez. However, it was her post-fight celebrations that caught everyone’s attention. Instead of settling for the usual victory lap, the 29-year-old opted for an unexpected and eye-catching twerking dance, amplifying the excitement by inverting herself on the octagon fence and repeating the dance with her teammate. With this latest victory, Pérez extends her winning streak to two consecutive triumphs, boosting her UFC record to 2-1, holding an overall professional MMA record of 9-2.
Ailín Pérez also revealed an incident behind her injured eye, which occurred in a pre-fight brawl with UFC women’s bantamweight contender Joselyne Edwards merely four days before the event. Reports from MMAMania suggest that the altercation unfolded on November 14, as Edwards allegedly confronted Pérez over comments made about one of her performances. Pérez addressed the incident during her post-fight interview, explaining that she did not disrespect anyone and was assaulted by Edwards with the intention of making her pull out of the fight. Despite the assault, Pérez won and fought regardless.
